Jim Wiser has been a member of the Connectict Marine Model Society for over 35 years. At a recent exhibit in the spring of 2009 at the Pequot library in Southport Connecticut Jim displayed many of his scratch built model. Click below and you can see photos of some the models he had on display.
USS Forrestal Heller Kit in 1/400 John Adriani built the Forrestal to it's 1964 configuration when John was stationed on the carrier. The deck line are Microscale Railroad stripes hand trimed to create the dashed lines.
Al Saubermann and HMS Berbice (1780) Al used the Hahn method of construction. The scale is 1/4"= 1'. Swivel guns and two 4 pound canon are in process. Belaying pins and deadeyes are in place. Cherry was the choice of wood for construction of the hull. The deck is holly. Al is set to begin the rigging. It's scratch built from Chapelle's Search for Speed Under Sail.
