From Justin Camarata,a quartet of paintings. They are all oil on board. The boats depicted are typical of those found in waters around Mystic, Stonington and Noank Connecticut in the late 1800s.  The sloops and schooners were for fishing.  The catboats in the racing scene were popular for recreation as well as racing.  Small steamers like the one shown were numerous and some served as water taxis since roads in the area were few not always in good condition.
